Personal Stylist and Apron Designer Chanell Surratt has created a luxury lifestyle brand offering a sophisticated line of aprons for the quintessential host.  The line of couture aprons is for the woman who understands that whether she is entertaining casually or hosting a formal dinner, style is an inherent part of who she is every day. These aprons bring a refined and sexy design to a functional garment that every kitchen and woman needs.

One day while reading a magazine, Chanell came across an article on the preparations necessary for a woman to throw a fabulous dinner party.  Yet, what Chanell noticed wasn’t the food or even the table setting.  She noticed what the woman was wearing, most notably the apron and how unremarkable it was, and an idea was born.  While her first thought was, “I can make an apron that looks way better than that,” Chanell didn’t want to design an average, everyday apron.

Chanell thought about her mother, and the countless dinner parties where her mother spent the entire time cooking and serving, never having time to properly dress until the very end.  Chanell wanted to design an apron that was so beautiful that even if the hostess didn’t have time to change she would still look amazing in just tights, a t-shirt and of course, one of Chanell’s aprons.

Chanell searched for beautiful and durable fabrics, sketched designs and found a local manufacturer to bring her vision to life.  After months of hard work Chanell completed her line of eye-catching, eclectic aprons.

But success was not immediate.  Due to a discouraging trademark issue with Chanel, Inc., Chanell put her dreams, and her aprons on hold.

Still determined to pursue her love of fashion, Chanell decided to add to her brand by becoming a personal stylist. Always the go-to fashion expert for her friends and family, she began by styling people she knew for events and special occasions, later helping clients edit their wardrobes based on her intrinsic and learned love of style.

During a personal styling consultation with a chef, Chanell shared photos of her aprons. Utterly impressed by their beauty, he encouraged Chanell to get her aprons out to the world. Inspired by the chef’s response to her aprons, Chanell knew it was time to showcase them once again.  With a little more knowledge and a lot more confidence, Chanell added the aprons to her styling business and C. Surratt Aprons was reborn.

Proud of the beautiful aesthetic of her apron line, Chanell is also proud that her products are American made.  From the fabrics, to the labels, to the custom gift boxes, Chanell used American companies to purchase and manufacture every part of C. Surratt Aprons.

As Chanell continues to build her personal styling business, she plans to have her aprons styling hostesses everywhere.

C. Surratt Aprons—elegance, beauty and sophistication, for the hostess who serves with style.
