At Ballet 180 School, one of our guiding principles is to help our students develop into young artists. Weekly classes at the studio provide a space for students to explore their creativity and express themselves through carefully created lesson plans by experienced faculty. Additionally, Ballet 180 students are given the opportunity to cultivate their artistic abilities through annual performances before an audience.
As a holiday tradition, Ballet 180 produces a fresh take on the Nutcracker that features the many styles of dance that the school offers — ballet, contemporary, tap and jazz. Students look forward to learning new roles each year and getting into character on stage. Ballet 180 also puts on an end of the year showcase highlighting all the students’ hard work over the course of the school year. The Showcase theme varies from year to year and students enjoy applying the theme to the music and movement for each of their dances.
For serious students who love to perform, Ballet 180 offers students ages 8 and up the unique opportunity to be a part of the Student Company performance group. The Student Company performs throughout the community and puts on a self-produced show featuring choreography from faculty and student generated work. Student Company members also receive additional roles in the Nutcracker Sweets production and the Showcase.
