Adventures in Dance is a fun-filled ballet camp for young dancers from 4.5 to 8 y/o! Each day features a ballet class, themed ballet crafts, and a multi-media story time. We are offering 3 one-week camps - each with a different theme. Join us for 1, 2, or all 3 weeks!

The PENNSYLVANIA ACADEMY OF BALLET was established in 1974 to train students in the art of ballet following the Vaganova Method of instruction. The method emphasizes precise technique, musicality, proper body placement, and a carefully structured breakdown of each movement. All PAB students, regardless of age or professional dance aspirations, receive the very best dance training available. PAB founders, Margarita and John White, met as members of the Ballet Nacional de Cuba where they performed internationally as Principal and Soloist dancers. They began their extensive and productive teaching careers after learning the Vaganova Method during their time in Cuba. After a professional dance career in the United States, France, and Japan, Melinda Pendleton (the Whites’ daughter) joined her parents as co-director of the Pennsylvania Academy of Ballet in 1991. She went on to become the owner and Artistic Director of PAB in 2012. True to the legacy of her parents, Ms. Pendleton maintains a highly trained faculty who teach the Vaganova Method of classical ballet, providing all PAB students with the highest quality professional ballet training.

Young children may begin as early as age 3.5 in our Pre-ballet division which serves as a fun and inclusive introduction to ballet. Our Leveled Academic division begins at age 8 and continues through high school. Leveled students take at least 2 classes per week with class duration and frequency increasing as dancers progress from Level 1 to Level 6. The most advanced students take daily classes and have multiple performance opportunities throughout the academic year. PAB also offers a robust Adult Ballet program to accommodate a wide range of dancers – from true beginners to current and former professionals. Students who are interested in a career as a professional dancer can participate in our Pre-Professional program to work towards the technical and artistic mastery required to pursue this dream. Since PAB’s founding, many of our students have distinguished themselves in national and international ballet competitions and more than 70 PAB graduates have gone on to professional careers in the performing arts.
