Friends’ Central’s Summer Programs offers a range of rich and varied summer opportunities, filled with endless fun and excitement, for children ages 3 through grade 12.
Early Start Camp (June 15-18, 2026) offers additional camp experience for the first week of summer for campers age 3 through 9 giving campers the opportunity to ease into the camp season and helping families fill the childcare gap between the end of the school year and the beginning of the camp season.
Tenderfoot Camp (June 22-August 7, 2026) is designed to welcome campers ages 3 to 6 years old. We offer a wide range of activities that cater to various interests, and we aim to provide a safe and engaging environment to ensure campers have a memorable summer experience. Campers are placed in co-educational groups (bunks) of similar ages, ensuring that the activities are appropriate for their developmental stage and encouraging positive social interactions with their peers. Tenderfoot camp activities include: swimming, art, sports & games, music, maker, yoga, storybook, nature, dance, free play, came-wide themed weeks, and special assemblies.
Trailblazer Camp (June 22-August 7, 2026) is designed to accommodate the special interests of children entering grades 2-7. Campers ages 7 to 10 are grouped in co-educational bunks according to grade; 11 and 12 year old campers are bunked by grade in single gender bunks. We also offer one older co-educational bunk for campers who prefer a co-ed bunk. Trailblazer camp activities include: archery, swimming, art, sports & games, music, tennis, drama, nature, crafts, board game, came-wide themed weeks, and special assemblies. Campers are invited to select an afternoon Pathfinder specialty activity to participate in. Each afternoon, campers receive instruction and develop skills in their chosen activity from instructors with specific expertise and experience. This allows campers to select areas of special concentration on a weekly basis over the course of the camp season.
Basketball, Reading, and Math Clinic (June 29-July 31, 2026) is a five-week summer program designed to address the athletic, academic, and social needs of students entering grades 2 -9. Instruction is given in the areas of basketball, reading, and mathematics and is geared towards the individual needs of each student. Highlights of the program include guest speakers, a life-skills discussion group, and a fitness awareness program. Classroom activities are interactive and designed to be fun as well as educational.
Summer STEAM (August 3-14, 2026) is a program for students entering grades 6-12 designed to spark curiosity and creativity. Campers will explore the intersections of science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM) through engaging, hands-on experiences. Summer STEAM utilizes Friends’ Central's brand new state-of-the-art Audrie Gardham Ulmer ’37 Center for Innovation and Design (CID) which houses 6,800 square feet of studios dedicated to design and prototyping, fabrication, technology and robotics.
